This insight highlights some of the key points of our Q3 2017 Strategic Report.Stock Market Overview<ol><li>Vietnam's stock market continued its uptrend in the third quarter of 2017, but trading value and volume fell from the second quarter.</li><li>Foreign investors remained net buyers in Q3, mostly in newly listed stocks.</li><li>Listed companies on both exchanges recorded impressive revenue and profit growth in H1 2017 compared to the same period last year.</li><li>Upbeat economic data, solid earnings results of listed companies and the SBV’s orientation towards a loose monetary policy will support the stock market in Q4.</li></ol> Macroeconomic Overview<ol><li class="">GDP growth strongly recovered in Q3 2017 due to the impressive growth in the industrial – construction sector, especially the manufacturing industry. Given the GDP growth of 6.41% in the first 9 months, the growth target 6.7% for 2017 has become more feasible.</li><li class="">Inflation rose in Q3 but still remains under the government’s control. The FY2017 inflation rate is estimated at 3.7-4%.</li><li class="">The Exchange rate stablilized in the first 9 months of this year.
