<p>According to Graph 1, there has been a downtrend in the EUR/USD exchange rate. During the examined period there were four secondary movements. More specifically, the currency pair was fluctuating with limited volatility from the start of the month and up to June 8th. Shortly after, the exchange rate moved downwards from June 9th to June 13th. After that, the pair drew a bullish trend from June 14th to June 27th. Finally, the rate followed a downtrend until July 1st, 2022. From June 1st, the MA 10 remained above the MA 20 while on June 13th, the long-term MA crossed above the short-term one. The Candle Bar, Graph 2, depicts that most of the candles were red over the period considered. In Graph 3, the PPO line turned negative on June 13th and was fluctuating in negative territory providing a potential sell signal. In Graph 4, the MACD crossed below the signal line on June 15th, implying a potential sell signal.</p>

<p>From June 1st to June 8th EUR/USD posted mild fluctuations following the announcement of a lower PMI than expected in Eurozone while inflation reached record high numbers in the euro area. | From June 7th to June 8th the pair rose because of the strong rise in Eurozone’s yields along with positive Q1 GDP growth estimations. | In the next trading session, the greenback traded higher as inflation in the EU reached its highest rate due to the energy crisis, while Biden’s administration in the US lifted the measure for obligatory negative test for international travelers to the US. | From June 14th to June 16th, EUR/USD increased, as Fed had to deal with the hot upcoming inflation report, while ECB announced plans to aid weaker countries with Pandemic Emergency Purchase Program again. | In the following day, the single currency dropped due to the Eurozone's Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices rise by 0.8% in May 2022. | From June 20th to June 22nd, the pair increased, due to Oli Rehn’s statement that ECB is likely to be able to exit negative territory in interest rates by the end of the third quarter, while Fed increased its interest rate by 75 points (largest hike since 1994). | On June 23rd, 2022 ECB announced its plans to raise deposit rate above zero by year end, while the Manufacturing PMI of Germany (preliminary data) came out less than expected in June. | In the next trading session, the pair rose as recession fears grew ahead of the Fed’s resolution to tame inflation unconditionally. | On June 28th, 2022 EUR/USD fell as dollar gained ground, owing to the ECB’s statement that will drain cash to offset any bond purchases made to cap borrowing costs for indebted euro zone countries. | On June 29th, EUR/USD recorded loses, as a result of ECB’s President Lagarde consideration of an anti-fragmentation tool at the July policy meeting. | In the next trading session, the single currency rose, while according to reports French inflation reached a high record of 6.5% in June. | On July 1st, the greenback edged higher while the US ISM Manufacturing PMI (Purchasing Managers Index) fell to a two year low after missed expectations.</p>
