Swire Pacific (19 HK) has bought back B/A shares in ratios of 63/37 and 72/28 over two days.  Listing Rules suggest the ratio has to be higher than 76.71/23.29.

<li>The theme we have seen over the past four weeks is an increasing number of indexes reversing 4-10-month downtrends and/or breaking above important resistance levels, with no failed breakouts.</li>
<li>We continue to believe that global equities are going through a bottoming process, but the real test will come during the eventual pullback, which we believe we are now experiencing.</li>
<li>We are watching to see whether these breakout levels and important moving averages (e.g., 50-day MAs) will hold.</li>
</ul>

Japan Among the Latest to Break Out; Buy Ideas in Growth/Cyclicals and Consumer Staples

<li>BHP launched a bid for <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/oz-minerals-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:1138:1" rel="noopener">OZ Minerals (OZL AU)</a>. OZ has rejected it as being too low. BHP said the Offer provides certainty of funding growth. They are both right</li>
<li>This Offer price for <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/lifestyle-international-holdings-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:112:1" rel="noopener">Lifestyle International Holdings (1212 HK)</a> is probably sufficient to get up. It has been declared final for that reason. Optically $6/share was a more reasonable level.</li>
<li>
<a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/nexon-co-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:16032:1" rel="noopener">Nexon (3659 JP)</a> announced another ¥100bn buyback over three years. However, the buyback is too small to pay back the Kim family inheritance tax obligations. </li>

<li>The immediate market response was to send them up 10% on the day. That puts both at somewhere near one-year highs, but the discount to NAV is still big.</li>

Today Swire Pacific (A) (19 HK) (and Swire Pacific Ltd-Cl B (87 HK)) announced earnings, and they announced a large (HK$4bn) buyback.  
Details are somewhat thin, but there are a bunch of possibilities, and all of them should have non-negligible impact on Swire and Swire vs Peers. 
The immediate market response was to send them up 10% on the day. That puts both at somewhere near one-year highs, but the discount to NAV is still big.
