<li>It seems very probable that the replacement demand for futures (short) will increase substantially due to a possible saturation of the loan market.</li>
<li>This situation, coupled with local pensions' basis trading, can lead to a significantly distorted basis. We should do basis trading or play pair trading (with LG Chem) on this.</li>

<li>In this insight, we discuss the recent buying and selling by the Korea National Pension Service (NPS) of Korean stocks.</li>
<li>Of the 176 Korean stocks in which NPS reported changes in ownerships in 2Q 2022, NPS increased its stakes in 115 companies and reduced stakes in 61 companies.</li>
<li>NPS mostly increased stakes in aerospace, defense, construction equipment, and energy sectors while reducing stakes in telecom and tourism related stocks.</li>

In this insight, we discuss the recent buying and selling by the Korea National Pension Service (NPS) of Korean stocks.
Of the 176 Korean stocks in which NPS reported changes in ownerships in 2Q 2022, NPS increased its stakes in 115 companies and reduced stakes in 61 companies.

NPS Sells SK Bioscience, Naver, & LG Electronics and Buys Kakao Bank, Lotte Corp, & Samyang Foods

<li>Our base case valuation LG Energy Solution is implied market cap of 75 trillion won or target price of 319,089 won, representing 25% below current share price.</li>
<li>Currently, LGES is trading at a premium valuation multiple on a EV/EBITDA (2023E) versus CATL. We believe LGES should trade at a discount to CATL in the next 6-12 months. </li>
<li>LGES's 6 months lock-up ends on 27 July and there are 4.3% of outstanding shares that can be sold which is likely to put negative pressure on share price.</li>

Our base case valuation LG Energy Solution is implied market cap of 75 trillion won or target price of 319,089 won, representing 25% below current share price.
Currently, LGES is trading at a premium valuation multiple on a EV/EBITDA (2023E) versus CATL. We believe LGES should trade at a discount to CATL in the next 6-12 months. 
LGES's 6 months lock-up ends on 27 July and there are 4.3% of outstanding shares that can be sold which is likely to put negative pressure on share price.

<li>After the market close on 21 April, it was reported that SK Chemical's CEO Jeon Kwang-Hyun sold all his shares (21,852 shares) of SK Bioscience from April 19th to 21st.</li>
<li>The fact that the CEO of SK Chemical, the controlling shareholder of SK Bioscience, sold all his stake in the latter company does not bode well for SK Bioscience. </li>
<li>The CEO of SK Chemical selling all his shares in SK Bioscience and increasing reluctance in getting more COVID booster shots suggest further downside risk for SK Bioscience. </li>
