<li>The reference period for the June 2024 review is now complete. <li>In this insight, we take a look at our final expectations for index changes in June 2024.</li>

CSI 300 represents the 300 largest stocks by market cap and liquidity from the Shanghai and Shenzhen Exchanges. CSI 500 is the next 500.
The reference period for the June 2024 review is now complete. There are some changes to the expected ADDs/DELs list since I published my last insight (link) ~3 weeks ago.

Periscope Analytics

Periscope Analytics focuses on event-driven trades across Asia Pacific and provides comprehensive, timely and systematic coverage of index changes to major Asia Pacific indices in a structured manner.

The analysis includes forecasted inclusions and exclusions to all major Asian indices that have significant amount of tracking assets, including estimates of passive buy/sell flow on the stocks. The service also provides commentary and impact of market consultations, ground rule changes, and other events (IPOs, spin-offs, M&A) that could lead to index changes and passive flow.

Periscope Analytics works with multi-strategy hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, stat arb trading groups and long-only investors that invest and trade in the Asia Pacific region with the data being used to trade index rebalances, avoid pre-positioning and passive flow, and to time entry into and exit from stocks.

<li>There will be 6 changes for the <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/chinext-index" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:25483:1" rel="noopener">ChiNext Index (SZ399006 INDEX)</a> and 5 changes for the ChiNext 50 Index. Implementation is at the close on 8 December.</li>
<li>There is a lot of overlap between the adds and deletes across both indices with the one-way trade across both indices estimated to be CNY 2.4bn.</li>
<li>The adds and deletes have drifted lower over the last few months. However, the adds have outperformed the deletes significantly in the last month.</li>
</ul>


There will be 6 changes for the ChiNext Index (SZ399006 INDEX) and 5 changes for the ChiNext 50 Index. Implementation is at the close on 8 December.
There is a lot of overlap between the adds and deletes across both indices with the one-way trade across both indices estimated to be CNY 2.4bn.
The adds and deletes have drifted lower over the last few months. However, the adds have outperformed the deletes significantly in the last month.

<li>The 2023 NRDL negotiation has officially begun since Friday. Pharmaceutical enterprises predict the price reduction would be more reasonable. But some company representatives were dissatisfactory with first-day negotiation results. </li>
<li>Although there're many optimistic judgments about the improved financing environment in both China and overseas markets, this may not be the case. Based on the data, we remain cautious instead.</li>
<li>As the disposable glove market gradually shows a warming trend, we are optimistic that <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/intco-medical-technology-co-lt" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:29782:1" rel="noopener">Intco Medical </a>would achieve a performance reversal in the future. The current valuation has bottomed out.</li>

<li>Friday will end the review cutoff for the ASX indices and Hang Seng Indexes will announce the December changes for the <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/hong-kong-hang-seng-index" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:22899:1" rel="noopener">HSI</a>, <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/hang-seng-china-enterprises-index" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:22900:1" rel="noopener">HSCEI</a>, <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/hang-seng-tech-index" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:31367:1" rel="noopener">HSTECH</a> and HSCI post market close.</li>
<li>Another week of large outflows for China focused ETFs with redemptions across all the major indices.</li>
</ul>


Wednesday will be a busy day as positions are put on and unwound following announcement of the changes to the MSC indices.
Friday will end the review cutoff for the ASX indices and Hang Seng Indexes will announce the December changes for the HSI, HSCEI, HSTECH and HSCI post market close.
Another week of large outflows for China focused ETFs with redemptions across all the major indices.
