Singapore Exchange Ltd (SGX)

Singapore Exchange is Asia’s leading and trusted market infrastructure, facilitating the exchange of capital and ideas to create value for people, businesses and economies. <ul><li>As of 20 June, the FTSE ST All-Share Index generated a 3.9% total return in 2Q24, outpacing the FTSE Asia Pacific Index (+2.7%) and FTSE ASEAN All-Share Index (-1.9%).</li><li>The 10 strongest performers of the FTSE ST All-Share Index in 2Q24 (to 20 June) averaged 37% total returns, and were led by Yoma Strategic, Samudera Shipping and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding.</li><li>On the other side of the FTSE ST All-Share Index constituent performances, Food Empire Holdings has declined 19% in 2Q24 (to 20 June), reducing its total return since the end of 2019 to 95%.</li></ul>

<ul><li>Actively traded high-turnover stocks in 2023 YTD This year, close to a quarter of Singapore’s 100 most actively traded stocks have registered double-digit percentage growth in daily trading turnover from their respective 2022 levels.</li><li>This saw the stock rank among the 85 most traded stocks so far this year, after ranking just outside the 170 most traded stocks in 2022.</li></ul>

Vibrant activity among top traded stocks on SGX

<ul><li>For 1H23, the STI booked a 2% total return, in-line with the FTSE ASEAN Extended 60 Index’s 1.0% total return with combined STI ETF AUM declining 4% to S$2.145 billion.</li><li>Outside of the STI, actively traded stocks that booked the highest total returns in 1H23 included Dyna-Mac, Tianjin Pharmaceutical Da Ren Tang Group, Delfi, Food Empire Holdings, PropNex, Marco Polo Marine & Samudera Shipping Line.</li><li>However, outlier performances within the Singapore stock market, saw the average total return of the 100 most traded stocks in 1H23 at 3.2% versus the median total return of 0.5%.</li></ul>

STI Books 1.2% Total Return in 1H23 as Global Growth Decelerates

<ul><li>The first six weeks of 3Q22 has seen the technology sector lead the global stock market, after ranking as the laggard sector in both 1Q22 and 2Q22.</li><li>Global technology stocks, in addition to e-commerce retailers make up approximately 25% of the FTSE Developed Index, with the slump in these industries in 1Q22 and 2Q22 driving the decline of the broader Developed economy benchmark through the end of June.</li><li>Together the seven stocks averaged 9% total returns over the six weeks, reducing their average decline in total return to 12%.</li></ul>

QAF Limited manufactures and distributes bread, bakery, and confectionery products.  The Company also operates supermarkets and cold storage warehousing. QAF trades and distributes food, beverages, food related ingredients and commodities.  QAF produces, processes, and markets pork and feed mill production.

Petra Foods Limited manufactures and distributes branded consumer products, primarily chocolate confectionery, across Southeast Asia.

Indofood Agri Resources Limited is an integrated agribusiness company. The Company and its subsidiaries are involved in research and development, oil palm seed breeding, oil palm cultivation and milling. Indofood Agri Resources also refines, brands and markets cooking oil, margarine, shortening and other palm oil products.

Mewah International, Inc. produces vegetable oils.  The Company produces palm, lauric, coconut, soybean, canola, sunflower, and corn oil.  Mewah markets its oils to refiners, processors, wholesalers and retailers; and packs and sells edible oils and fats and specialized bakery and confectionery oils and fats to consumers.

Japfa Ltd. operates in the agricultural industry. The Company breeds and processes chicken, pork and beef. Japfa also operates dairy farms.

Yeo Hiap Seng Limited manufactures, distributes, and exports canned food, sauces, and non-alcoholic beverages.  Through its subsidiaries, the Company also rents beverage vending machines.  Yeo Hiap Seng develops and invests in properties.

Oceanus Group Ltd is a marine aquaculture specialist focusing on large-scale, land-based, industrialized production and sale of Japanese abalones.

Del Monte Pacific Limited produces and markets packaged vegetable and fruit, beverage and culinary products. The Group has the exclusive right to use the Del Monte brand for packaged products in the USA, South America, Philippines, the Indian subcontinent and Myanmar, and the S&W brand for both packaged and fresh products globally except Australia and New Zealand.

Hanwell Holdings Ltd. manufactures, markets, and sells household consumer products, soya bean products, and paper products.  The Company also provides healthcare consultancy and hospital and hotel management services, develops properties, and provides management services to the Econ Minimart chain of stores.

JB Foods Ltd produces cocoa products.  The Company's products include cocoa powder, cocoa liquor, and cocoa butter.

PT Salim Ivomas Pratama Tbk produces, manufactures and distributes cooking oil, margarine, and shortening. The Company has its own palm plantation and factories. Salim distributes its product worldwide.

PT Nippon Indosari Corpindo Tbk produces baked goods.  The Company produces bread, cakes, bread pudding, lasagna, and other foods.

HOKUTO CORPORATION produces a variety of mushrooms.  The Company also manufactures machinery and polypropylene for mushroom cultivation, food packing and packaging materials, and containers.  Hokuto conducts research and development on mushroom fungus.

Ridley Corporation Limited, through its subsidiaries, operates stockfeed mills, which produce and distribute animal feed products for the beef, dairy, pig and poultry industries.  The Company also operates salt refineries and produces crude salt along with providing rural products and services.

Limoneira Company grows, packs, processes, and markets agricultural products for national  and international distribution. The Company's products include includes lemons, Navel and Valencia oranges, specialty citrus, avocados, pistachios, and cherries.

Thaitheparos PCL manufactures food seasoning products including flavor sauce, vinegar, chili sauce, tomato sauce, oyster sauce, chili and tomato sauce, soy sauce, and powdered sauce, under branded names.  The Company also produces canned fruits.

Ve Wong Corporation manufactures and markets food products. The Company produces Monosodium Glutamate (MSG), instant noodles, soy sauce, canned foods, and soft drinks.

J-OIL MILLS, INC. was established through the merger of Honen (2601 JP) and Ajinomoto Oil Mills.  The Company produces and sells cooking oil, including vegetable and soy bean oil.  Honen Ajinomoto Oil Mills also produces health foods, cornstarches, feeds, and fine chemicals.

PT Dharma Satya Nusantara TBK is a palm oil and wood processing company. The Company is currently concentrating on three types of integrated businesses: wood products, timber estates and plantations.

NAGATANIEN HOLDINGS CO., LTD. produces and sells Japanese-styled prepared foods, including flavor powder for rice and Japanese-styled omelets.  The Company also produces Chinese and Western-styled prepared foods, including pancake mix and spicy Chinese tofu.

Food Empire Holdings Limited manufactures and markets instant beverage products, frozen convenience food, confectionery and snack food. The Company exports its products to markets such as Russia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and Indochina.
