We provide research and consultancy on Asian banks. Our focus is on what we call “Asian bank research, without the noise.” We are interested in the most critical swing-factors for banks, the NPL and credit cycle, and where we believe there is a gap between perception and reality. We often focus on the less studied components of bank financial statements.  Our research is highly thematic, sometimes examining unlisted banks and companies as a window on mainstream banks. 

Being independent allows us to look at smaller banks, often overlooked by others. Analysis of BIS bank guidelines in the context of Asia, is also a focal point, while we also analyze global banks operating in the region. We use what we believe is the most comprehensive, reliable financials database, SNL Financial. S&P Capital IQ augments our database, with corporate data and CEIC, with economics.

Asia Vital Components (3017) trades at a much higher forward PE compared to its peers while Chang Hwa Commercial Bank (2801) trades at a lower PB compared to its peers.

Taichung Commercial Banks provides bills and notes discounting, draft endorsement, domestic remittance, guarantee, and securities underwriting and brokerage services.

King's Town Bank accepts deposits and offers various kinds of loans. The Bank provides notes and bills discounting, collecting, guarantee, remittance, securities brokerage and financing, letter of credit, foreign exchange, and traveler checks services.

Union Bank of Taiwan accepts various deposits and provides short and medium term loans.  The Bank issues discount notes, invests in government bonds, short-term bills, corporate bonds and financial debentures, issues domestic letter of credit, and conducts savings and trust business.  Union Bank of Taiwan also provides remittance and guarantee services.

Far Eastern International Bank provides general commercial banking services. The Bank's services include commercial lending, letter of credit, banker's acceptances, checking and savings accounts, installment and term loans, foreign exchange transactions, marketable securities investments, credit card issuance, trust business, stock brokerage, and underwriting.

SinoPac Financial Holdings Co., Ltd. is an investment holding company, formed through Bank SinoPac and SinoPac Securities.

Hua Nan Financial Holdings Co., Ltd. is a holding company. Through its subsidiaries, the Company conducts commercial banking, savings, trust, and international banking businesses. Chongqing Rural Commercial Bank Co.,Ltd. provides various types of personal and corporate banking and financial services.  The Company's services including deposits, loans and bonds, domestic clearing, bank card, bill discounting, agent distribution, cashing and underwriting government bonds, guarantees, and payments and insurance agency .
