But it may just be a misunderstanding. Maybe.</li>
<li>Given <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/jardine-matheson-holdings-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:19718:1" rel="noopener">Jardine Matheson Holdings (JM SP)</a>'s strong underlying operating performance, the 40% discount to NAV - one in which there are discounts of discounts - JMH appears attractive here. </li>
<li>Expect a firm Offer for <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/nearmap-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:5142:1" rel="noopener">Nearmap Ltd (NEA AU)</a> shortly. Thoma Bravo's due diligence is already at an advanced stage. And why Nearmap entered into the break fee. </li>

<li>History suggests outperformance of Peers until the end of the buyback (and it has done well here), then underperformance post-buyback.</li>
<li>Consensus forward EPS and EBIT ratios vs Peers suggest Canon shares have more to catch up, but some of that would involve reclaiming historical "quality premium."</li>

Canon Inc (7751 JP) announced a buyback on 5 August. That was its 17th ¥50bn buyback in 15 years. And its first "second buyback within a single year" since 2014.
History suggests outperformance of Peers until the end of the buyback (and it has done well here), then underperformance post-buyback.

<li>This Offer price for <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/lifestyle-international-holdings-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:112:1" rel="noopener">Lifestyle International Holdings (1212 HK)</a> is probably sufficient to get up. It has been declared final for that reason. Optically $6/share was a more reasonable level.</li>
<li>
<a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/nexon-co-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:16032:1" rel="noopener">Nexon (3659 JP)</a> announced another ¥100bn buyback over three years. However, the buyback is too small to pay back the Kim family inheritance tax obligations. </li>

<li>Now, the U.S. dollar (DXY) is starting to show early signs of topping. We continue to believe that global equities are going through a bottoming process.</li>
