In 2020, HKEx stock price rose 68%, outperforming Hang Seng Index down 3%. We believe HKEx momentum will continue in 2021.</li>

We forecast Securities ADT of HK$240bn in FY 21 (Hong Kong and Stock Connect Northbound) and raise HKEx TP HKD 500. </li>
<li>HKEx announced that Calvin Tai Chi Kin has replaced Charles Li Xiaojia as its new interim Chief Executive, effective from 1st January 2021. Calvin Tai Chi Kin, a financial industry veteran, has been named HKEx' Interim CEO since last September. He will take over Charles Li Xiaojia’s responsibilities and continue his role as Co-President and Chief Operating Officer of HKEx. <p>Calvin brings a wealth of experience of more than thirty-five years to his new position. According to the media, several candidates have been considered by HKEx, but the final decision on HKEx CEO has not been reached. </p>

<p>Kuaishou Technology (KT) is a content community and social platform that is looking to raise around US$5bn in its Hong Kong IPO. The company is backed by Tencent, Sequoia China, Baidu, DST Global, Boyu Capital, Temasek and others.</p><p>As of six months ended Jun 2020, it had 302m daily active users (DAUs), who spent 85 mins on average on the app every day. It also had 776m monthly active users (MAUs) and total e-commerce GMV of RMB109.6bn. <p>It's been a <em>long</em> time since we looked at and wrote about <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/cj-korea-express-corp" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:11557:1" rel="noopener">CJ Logistics (000120 KS)</a>. In a note we published here way back in June 2017, we said it was highly unlikely CJ Logistics would see the margin improvement needed to hit analysts' consensus forecast of 6,400 won per share in 2018.</p>

<p>Specifically, we doubted that higher margins would be driven by growth of the company's <em>Global</em> segment, which includes CJ's international freight forwarding business and several overseas logistics units CJ had acquired in an effort to create a "Pan-Asian Logistics Network".</p>
<p>Since we last wrote about the company, CJ Logistics has apparently abandoned its push to become a major player in logistics <em>outside</em> of Korea, focusing instead on a disparate list of domestic initiatives. Overall profitability remains similar to depressed levels from 3-4 years ago. </p>
<p>Since we last tracked them, CJ Logistics' shares haven't performed well: they're down about 24% compared to their 5-year high reached in mid-2016, though like many stocks they have risen from depressed Q120 levels. Unless CJ Logistics can articulate a winning long-term strategy, and then show consistent progress towards executing it successfully, we would avoid the shares. </p>
