<ul><li><p>Byju’s, the global edtech behemoth based out of India, announced that it is laying off 5% or 2,500 of its total workforce as it restructures to achieve overall profitability by March 2023.</p></li><li>The job cuts, which will be across the product, content, media, and technology teams, will be done in phases.</li><li>The SoftBank-backed company said the move stems from the consolidation of its various K-10 businesses, namely Toppr, Meritnation, TutorVista, Scholar, and HashLearn, into one unit.</li></ul>
