Until it changed its mind.</li>
<li>I had thought appraisal rights a great trade. I also thought it a good trade to own the back end, but that involved one holder putting ¥55bn on the table. </li>
<li>Activist Murakami-san's S Grant Corporation has done that. It will own one share of 8 post-consolidation on Monday. They are now equal shareholders with the govt entities.  Wow.</li>

Last week on 20 Sep I published Toshiba Tender Offer Ends Today - Upcoming Index Selldown Schedule and Sunday, The Biggish Sep 2023 "Wednesday-Thursday Trade" With Added Monday/Friday Flavour. 
They were based on an expectation the TSE would announce the initial selldown for Sep-end as they normally would. Unbeknownst to me, on 22 Sep they announced end-Oct.
The initial TOPIX selldown is 30 Oct, not 28 Sep. This affects expected reverse funding today.

<li>It looks good, takes advantage of tax code particularities, and the nature of the company disguises some value. Shareholder structure means this is basically a done deal before it starts.</li>
<li>With minimal foreign active investor ownership, and significant crossholder, ESOP, and director ownership, only a bit of retail actually needs to tender to make this successful.</li>

Carlyle Group is buying Seiko Pmc Corp (4963 JP) from 54+% owner Dic Corp (4631 JP) and minorities in a Tender Offer with optical premium of 89%. 
It looks good, takes advantage of tax code particularities, and the nature of the company disguises some value. Shareholder structure means this is basically a done deal before it starts.
With minimal foreign active investor ownership, and significant crossholder, ESOP, and director ownership, only a bit of retail actually needs to tender to make this successful.
