<p>As I mentioned in my previous article, "Japan's Governance: Unclear Medium-Term Management Plan - Kusuri No Aoki (3549)," I would like to focus on the drugstore industry, which continues to grow among retailers. 1990s was the starting point for the growth of drugstore chains in Japan, and although the industry continues to grow at a high rate, it is now entering a phase of consolidation. After more than 20 years since their inception in the 1990s, many major drugstore chains have reached a point where the founders are stepping down and handing over management to their successors.</p>

As I mentioned in my previous article, "Japan's Governance: Unclear Medium-Term Management Plan - Kusuri No Aoki (3549)," I would like to focus on the drugstore industry, which continues to grow among retailers. 1990s was the starting point for the growth of drugstore chains in Japan, and although the industry continues to grow at a high rate, it is now entering a phase of consolidation. After more than 20 years since their inception in the 1990s, many major drugstore chains have reached a point where the founders are stepping down and handing over management to their successors.

That told him the TSE included the shares at month-end despite the index team telling us (Janaghan communicated on this but Travis was CCed) they would not make the share change at delisting if the notice was so short.Turns out they did.

(4004 JP)'s remaining 14.97%, that gets them to about 70.4% of shares out. This is enough to push a squeezeout, but it may also be enough outstanding to be worthwhile thinking about an Appraisal Rights case.

Matsukiyo-Cocokara Merger Heralds New Era for Drugstores

As regular readers of the series on Matsumotokiyoshi Holdings Co., Ltd. (3088 JP) and Cocokara Fine (3098 JP) over the past nearly two years will know, I have expected Cocokara to benefit on the exchange ratio. I thought the ratio that was reached - 1.7 Matsukiyo shares for every share of Cocokara - was a little light, and not just because the ratio announced was lower than the closing price pre-announcement.
