<p>Lotte Group finally made an official announcement about its equity spinoff &amp; merger plans. The boards of directors of its four key affiliates, <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/16050" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:16050:1">Lotte Confectionery Co Ltd (004990 KS)</a>, <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/2338" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:2338:1">Lotte Shopping Co (023530 KS)</a>, <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/4843" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:4843:1">Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co (005300 KS)</a> and <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/3306" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:3306:1">Lotte Food Co Ltd (002270 KS)</a>, passed the plans to split themselves into an investment entity and a business entity today. These plans will be put up for approval at the respective shareholder meetings scheduled for Aug 29. Upon approval, the merger after the divestiture will officially come into effect Oct. 1.</p>
