<li>The data centre industry continues to be a hotbed for M&amp;A. <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-07-27/mbk-partners-is-said-to-weigh-rival-bid-for-chinese-data-center-firm-vnet" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bloomberg reported</a> on 27 July that MBK Partners is mulling an offer for VNET. </li>
<li>The offer is unattractive, and Mr Cheng, with 28.79% of voting rights, will need the support of other substantial shareholders. This latest offer underlines the current mispricing of the shares</li>

<li>Many investors who would need to re-allocate. The trade was to buy major S-REITs. From my last insight, a basket is up 5.3%. MCT has already topped out vs peers.</li>

<ul><li>REIT Watch - SGTI 2022 shows more S-Reits reporting non-financial metrics S-Reits and business trusts see an improvement in their Singapore Governance and Transparency Index (SGTI) 2022 scores, increasing marginally to 85.3 points from 85.0 last year.</li><li>Overall, the mean score of the Reits and business trust category increased by 0.3 points year on year and the mean bonus points for good disclosure practices increased by 0.7 points to 19.2 points.</li></ul>

A potential bid would compete against The Hina Group and Industrial Bank’s $8.00 per ADS offer. The Board has not provided an update on its stance on this offer.
