Our process begins by organizing the universe of actively traded stocks into discrete sectors, then into industry groups. We then apply our technical and quantitative tools to identify developing price trends. Once attractive trends are identified within a selected sector or group, we screen for individual stocks which we believe offer the best risk/reward profile. We provide a historical perspective that often reveals, through our long-term charts, how price patterns often repeat themselves over time.

Market dynamics continue to send mixed signals, but the bottom line is that not one MSCI ACWI Sector is breaking down, and important price support levels are holding in the US, Europe, and Japan. Additionally, the MSCI ACWI, ACWI ex-US, and EAFE indexes all remain above critical support levels. Until supports start to break we cannot be bearish. It is also worth noting that various indicators could be making a turn for the better, including early signs of interest rates bottoming in the US and Germany, a potential false breakdown in crude oil, and high yield spreads leveling-out.

The Biden-Harris administration recently announced four "Day One" priorities, the first of which is their COVID-19 response plan. COVID-19 response is first, because it is a prerequisite to economic recovery, which is the second of their four "Day One" priorities.Several investment themes are inherent in Biden's COVID-19 plan, some more direct and obvious than others. This Insight overviews more significant themes and their most representative stocks, in three sections (the first two will be expanded on in separate upcoming reports):<ol>

COVID-19 Testing: Testing is the largest, most tangible, nearest-term investment opportunity created by Biden's plan. An estimated US$75-100 billion for testing could be windfall for certain stocks, but not all. Selectivity is key, and timing is critical (related to vaccine development).</li>

Vaccine Delivery: Biden's plan emphasises vaccine manufacturing and delivery, versus vaccine development (Trump had allocated <a href="https://www.hhs.gov/coronavirus/explaining-operation-warp-speed/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">billions</a> to vaccine development companies). Some might go to big pharma companies for M&amp;D, but most should benefit other "cold chain" stocks.</li>

This is bullish and will continue to be as long as there is an absence of breakdowns. On the other hand, Europe’s EURO STOXX 50 and Japan’s TOPIX have struggled to break above resistance and their RS remains near the lows -- be selective. In addition to covering important technical levels across all markets, we highlight additional ideas in the following Sectors: Services, Communications, Industrials, and Transportation.

Air Liquide SA, through its subsidiaries, produces, markets, and sells industrial and healthcare gases, including liquid nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide, and oxygen worldwide. The Company also produces welding, diving, and technical-medical equipment. Air Liquide sells its products throughout Europe, the United States, Canada, Africa, and Asia.

Arkema SA manufactures and markets a wide range of chemicals. The Company manufactures both industrial chemicals and performance products including acrylics, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), hydrogen peroxide, technical polymers, specialty chemicals, and functional additives.

Robertet SA produces liquid flavorings, perfumes and associated natural aromatic ingredients. The Company operates in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Carbios operates as a chemical company. The Company develops biological processes for the end-of-life of plastics and synthetic fibers. Carbios serves clients in France.

Eramet is a mining and metallurgical group.  The Company refines and produces nickel, manganese, and special steels. Products are used in the iron, steel, aerospace, energy, transport, and engineering industries.  The Company operates plants in New Caledonia, France, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Gabon.

Imerys SA processes minerals and manufactures and sells building materials worldwide.  The Company produces pigments and additives such as kaolin, ground calcium carbonate, and precipitated calcium carbonate, clay roofing tiles, chimney blocks, bricks, and natural slate, ceramic materials used in tableware, tiles, and sanitary ware, and minerals for refractories.

Vicat S.A. manufactures and sells cements, ready-mix concrete, aggregates and concrete pipes, as well as stucco and mortar for use in building construction internationally.  The Company also produces a variety of papers, medium-to-large capacity paper bags and chemicals and provides freight transportation services.

Global Bioenergies is a company that has developed a conversion process to transform renewable resources into isobutene, one of the petrochemical building blocks which can be converted into ingredients for cosmetics, petrol, kerosene, LPG and plastics. Global Bioenergies conducts trials in its demo plant in Germany and is preparing their first full-sized plant.

Deinove is a biotechnology company. The Company researches and develops microbiological technologies for the production of organic acids, antibiotics, ethanol, and biofuels.

Westlake Chemical Corporation manufactures and markets basic chemicals, vinyls, polymers, and fabricated products.  The Company serves a range of consumer and industrial markets, including flexible and rigid packaging, automotive products, coatings, and residential and commercial construction.

LyondellBasell Industries NV manufactures plastic, chemical, and fuel products. The Company offers products for the manufacturing of personal care products, fresh food packaging, lightweight plastics, construction materials, automotive components, durable textiles, medical applications, and biofuels. LyondellBasell Industries conducts its business worldwide.

PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (CAP) is an integrated petrochemical producer. The Company produces ethylene, propylene, mixed C4, pyrolysis gasoline, polyethylene, polypropylene, and styrene monomer.  CAP serves both the domestic downstream industries and regional export markets in Indonesia.

LG Chem Ltd. is a chemical manufacturer.  The Company's products include petrochemicals, plastic resins, and engineering plastics.  LG Chem also produces industrial and electronic materials.

NITTO DENKO CORPORATION manufactures and markets a wide range of chemical products which are used as materials for industrial and electronic components. The Company's products include materials for sealants, semiconductors, and wrappings.  Nitto Denko has a network of sales/manufacturing subsidiaries worldwide.

Solar Industries India Limited manufactures and supplies explosives and explosives accessories. The company's products include bulk, cartridge, detonators, detonating cords Pentaerythritol Tetranitrate ("PETN"), and cast boosters.

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. produces industrial atmospheric and specialty gases, and performance materials and equipment. The Company's products include oxygen, nitrogen, argon, helium, specialty surfactants and amines, polyurethane, epoxy curatives and resins. Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. products are used in the beverage, health and semiconductors fields.

Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd. produces and distributes synthetic resins and other chemical products such as fertilizers. The Company also manufactures electronic materials such as semiconductor silicon, synthetic, and rare earth quartz. Shin-Etsu Chemical operates in Japan and overseas.

Wanhua Chemical Group Co., Ltd. develops, manufactures, and markets pure isocyanate, polymeric isocyanate, polyurethane, and other related chemical products.

Qinghai Salt Lake Industry Co.,Ltd manufactures and markets fertilizer products. The Company produces potash fertilizers, potassium chloride, and other products. Qinghai Salt Lake Industry also produces salts, chemicals, and other products.
