Japfa Comfeed’s Q1/20 results were better than expected, with stable revenue growth, improved profitability and cash flows. However, we understand that COVID-19 only had an impact in the last two weeks of Q1, and could even have driven demand up temporarily as people stocked up on food at home. The financial risk profile is reasonable, with a slight deterioration in leverage but stable coverage ratios. Liquidity remains weak despite the large cash position, due to the substantial and increasing short-term debt.
