CM Research is an independent research house based in London, England. We provide global thematic research in the Technology, Media and Telecoms (TMT) sectors. 

Our focus is on disruptive technologies: how will they unfold; which industries will be impacted; and who will be the ultimate winners and losers. 

Our aim is to help investors predict share prices and corporate executives stay one step ahead of the technology trends that are shaping their industry. 

We research technology investment themes in detail and then feed the results into a scorecard system to quantify the impact of several conflicting themes on individual stocks. 

Recent themes covered include internet TV, the Internet of Things, Big Data, Mobile payments, crowdfunding, artificial intelligence, the cloud, software defined networking and Generation Hashtag.

We cover the top 500 global TMT stocks by market capitalisation and several technology start-ups and pre-IPO companies too. 

In 2015, CM Research analysts outperformed the Bloomberg Benchmark Analyst Index - which measures how good analysts are at predicting stock prices - by 7.1%.

<ul><li>Samsung Display, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, makes new investments for increasing production of flexible OLED. The main purpose of the increased production of flexible OLED is to supply flexible OLED panels to Apple.</li><li>Unlike LCD and rigid OLED, flexible OLED requires PI. In fact, PI is being used as material for TFT substrate in curved OLED.</li><li>In the future (when foldable OLED becomes commercially available), PI will be used in more parts of flexible OLED. That is, it is now used only for TFT substrate. But in the future, PI will be also used for base film and cover window of flexible OLED.</li><li>Obviously, SKC Kolon PI is the front-runner in terms of meeting high demand potential from Korea's flexible OLED panel makers (Samsung and LG)!!!</li></ul>

Creative said on 30 October 2015 that its subsidiary Ziilabs has won its patent infringement lawsuit against Apple.Creative is the creator of the original PC audio card, the Sound Blaster. Its Chairman and CEO is Sim Wong Hoo, whose name is held up as the best example of a Singaporean entrepreneur. Leaders in Singapore often talk about entrepreneurship in Singapore as finding the "next Sim Wong Hoo".But the Creative of 2016 has been in decline for some time. The company is running out of time and chances to pull itself up. The company has been making losses every year since FY09, except for FY13, when it turned a small profit due to the gain on disposal of contract design company ZiiLabs.  Its revenue, at S$1.1 bln in FY06, has been falling regularly. It reported sales of just S$99.5 mln in FY14. Despite its decline, Creative has no debt and a cash pile of S$99.7 mln. But that is declining every year tooWe think it would be a waste if Creative dies a slow death. That is unless it stops what it is doing (and not working) and starts doing something very different.
