<li>Samsung Biologics announced that it would purchase all 10,341,852 shares of Samsung Bioepis owned by Biogen for ₩2.77T. For this, it also announced a ₩3T new share issuance.</li>
<li>The discount rate is 15%, tighter than the usual 20%. Despite that, this offering still deserves attention from an arb perspective as we may see more forfeited shares than expected.</li>
<li>Entry timing? I'll aim at the rights trading window. As a short hedge, I will look at C&amp;T, which is expected to have a higher price synch rate with Biologics.</li>

 Korean prefs have outperformed ords on a YTD basis, probably due to the LG Energy listing. Many of KOSPI's large-cap stocks have seen an outflow to make room for LGES.</li>
<li>
Samsung Electronics 1P and Mirae Asset 2PB have a negative pref-ord YTD yield difference and are currently below-1.0σ on a 20-day MA.</li>
<li>Mirae widened the pref-ord spread by announcing an ord-only share buyback. So it should be seen as an outlier. Then, virtually all that remains is the Samsung Electronics 1P.</li>

The trading data of Korean stock market on January 27th and 28th clearly shows how the NPS and other local pension funds strongly supported LG Energy Solution IPO's stock price. 
What is concerning is that the local pension funds nearly neglected net purchase of all other 2,400+ stocks in Korea.
