Reportedly, Hanwha has been informed that the US, for which Austal builds ships for the US Navy, supports Austal being owned by the South Koreans. This should come as no surprise –the Aussie Defence Minister would not have said a month ago that the government would not block a deal without first consulting the US. Still a ways to go on this transaction. Trading 16.7% adrift of indicative terms.
