It runs the whole gamut and is not simply an economic tussle but a geostrategic showdown. While a meeting might take place eventually in an attempt to ratchet down tensions, we do not expect long-lasting resolutions to emerge from the possible summit. Any improvement in US-China relations or even the makings of a trade deal being struck, will be tactical, temporary and unlikely to last.</p>
