Chinese Estates (127 HK): Understanding The Scheme Voting

This is now a value play, and a relatively illiquid one at that. I'd avoid the stock as I would expect shares to trade sideways and oscillate with the fortunes (and misfortunes) of Evergrande.

Interesting development. 230.977mn shares (or 12.11% of shares out) in Chinese Estates (127 HK) have moved into CCASS (and into BNP). That's almost exactly the shares held by Joseph Lau Luen Hung Investments, a vehicle controlled by former chairman Joseph Lau and his wife Kimbee Chan. The Lau family attempted to take Chinese Estates private in 2021 but failed the "headcount test".
