The company has filed for an IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and according to news media outlets, Abbisko plans to raise proceeds of US$250-300m.The company does not have any products approved for commercial sale and does not generate any revenues from product sales. There are a number of product candidates still under development by Abbisko and for most of these products, there are similar products (drugs that target the same condition/indication) that are currently being developed by other players in China. At the same time, for some of the product candidates that are under development, there are similar products that are approved in overseas markets such as pan-FGFR inhibitors approved by the FDA. This suggests that there is the possibility that by the time Abbisko’s products reach the market, the existing products that are already commercialised would have established themselves in the market . However, the small molecule oncology market continues to grow which provides Abbisko with strong growth opportunities.  The company also has a seasoned management team who have proven track record of drug discovery and development. The three co-founders of the company have contributed to several successful drug development and commercialisation programs and have previously worked at multinational pharmaceuticals.
