Equity Bottom-Up

In its second-quarter update, Record reported a broadly stable figure for assets under management equivalent (AUME), but also included news of a noticeable passive hedging outflow due in Q319. While this prompts 3% and 9% reductions in our FY19 and FY20 EPS estimates, the group is seeing good opportunities to win new business and our estimates exclude both potential AUME inflows and performance fees.

Similarly, positive net AUME flows could allow earnings to beat our expectations.

Flows were modestly negative but this was well within the normal range of quarterly volatility; the main reasons for a moderate reduction in our earnings estimates are the currency-related reduction in sterling AUME and increased costs to enhance customer service and deal with regulatory changes. After recent weakness the shares trade on below average earnings multiples and offer an attractive yield.
