PT Selamat Sempurna Tbk (SMSM/the “Company”) today announced the Company’s performance for the first half of 2024 Financial Year

The Company’s consolidated net sales for the 1st half of financial year 2024 was Rp2.35 trillion, decrease of 5.26% from the comparable period last year. The Company’s net income* was Rp445 billion, 3.71% higher from the comparable period last year. Gross margin, operating margin and net profit margin* has increase to 35%, 25% and 19% respectively.

*) Net income is profit attributable to owners of the parent entity, i.e. SMSM’s shareholders.

Amidst the bumpy challenges and stresses of global economic, the Company remains optimistic can delivers positive performance until the end of 2024. This optimism is based on the historical record of the Company's performance over the last three decades which there are wide open opportunities in every situation or condition of crisis and/or economic slowdown. Based on a more conservative forecast with specific regard to macro and global economic situation, the Company in 2024 expects a low single-digit of sales increase, and its expectation of profitability better than in 2023.

The Company continue actively monitors market dynamics and proactively adjusts business strategies to suppress negative impacts and improve future growth potential. We learned that always need to be over prepared for unforeseen challenges.

Today SMSM reported results for the 2023 financial year, booked a slightly higher of sales and improved earnings versus the prior year despite continued macro-economic headwinds. SMSM delivered net sales growth of 4% and grew earnings per share by 11%. 

For the Company, 2023 was a year in which we focus strengthen a solid pathway to maintained the sustainability of its business in the face of massive, rapid and unpredictable changes in the business landscape, especially in the midst of global economic uncertainty and geopolitical conditions which create a challenging situation.

The Company’s commitment remains the same, that is, to continue growing competitively, profitably, sustainably and responsibly. The various achievements and plans to meet customer needs and overcome current challenges have formed a solid pathway for the Company’ to achieve a better growth and fly even higher in the coming years.
