Naspers (NPN) X Prosus (PRX): Time to Close Out Pairs Trade as Discount Falls to 8.9% from 13.7%

<li>Discounts likely set for a re-rating as market continues to overreact to appointment of CEO amid good set of results.</li>
<li>The discounts of both Naspers and Prosus have continued to widen since the appointment of Fabricio Bloisi to Group CEO was announced in May (effective 10 July).</li>
<li>At the end of June, the group released its strongest set of results in years, delivering on consolidated ecommerce profitability ahead of target.</li>

Discounts likely set for a re-rating as market continues to overreact to appointment of CEO amid good set of results.
The discounts of both Naspers and Prosus have continued to widen since the appointment of Fabricio Bloisi to Group CEO was announced in May (effective 10 July).
At the end of June, the group released its strongest set of results in years, delivering on consolidated ecommerce profitability ahead of target.


The Naspers/Tencent & Prosus/Tencent Stub: Entry Levels so Attractive It Looks Too Good to Be True

<li>Improved transparency from management is an important positive. Additional disclosures were included on entity IRR in the results presentation (attached, not previously disclosed). </li>
<li>Profitability target for the consolidated ecommerce businesses moved forward to H2 FY24 from H1 FY25. Significant narrowing of trading losses in H1 FY24 to $36m from $256m in H1 FY23.</li>
<li>As management 'commit to highlight value where and when possible', we think an IPO could very well be on the horizon.</li>
</ul>

China

JD.com Inc is an online direct sales company in China.  The Company offers a wide selection of products through its website and mobile applications.  JD.com sells appliances, computers, digital products, communication products, garments, books, and household items to consumers and vendors.

Prosus N.V. provides internet based services. The Company focuses on investments in internet, digital media, e-commerce retailing, and consumer internet companies. Prosus serves customers worldwide.

Alibaba Group Holding Limited provides online sales services. The Company provides internet infrastructure, electronic commerce, online financial, and internet content services through its subsidiaries. Alibaba Group Holding offers its products and services worldwide.

Hainan Island Construction Co Ltd.  is a property development company. The Company also operates regional malls and hotels.

Guangzhou Friendship Group Co., Ltd operates supermarkets and department stores in Guangzhou, China.  The Company sells a variety of consumer products, including apparel, food and beverages, electronics, jewelry, cosmetics, and electric appliances.  Guangzhou Friendship also leases real estate properties.
