From being a fragmented unorganized sector fraught with dealings in cash, the sector has been undergoing significant shifts since introduction of regulations like RERA and GST. This is leading to favorable supply and demand shifts in the sector which is helping the organized sector.</p>

<p>Teamlease Services: Teamlease registered strong growth (+5.1% QoQ) for the second consecutive quarter, in line with our estimate. Growth in core staffing (+5.5% QoQ, 91% of revenue) was led by improved hiring activity in e-commerce, essential retail, BFSI and manufacturing verticals. Stressed verticals like hospitality, retail and travel are not showing signs of recovery though. The core associate headcount growth has been robust (+7.5% QoQ, crossed the pre-COVID level), led by NETAP (+17.5%). <div><p>The Indian mutual fund industry has assets of almost INR 6.6 trillion across Multi cap, Large Cap, Large and Mid Cap, Mid Cap, Small Cap and Flexi Cap equity schemes. Equity schemes classified as large cap need to have at least 80% of their assets invested in large cap stocks, large and mid cap schemes need to have at least 35% of their assets in large cap stocks and at least 35% in mid cap stocks, mid cap funds need to hold at least 65% of their assets in mid cap stocks, and small cap funds need to hold at least 65% of their assets in small cap stocks. Flexi cap funds can invest across market caps.</p></div><div>
<p>The Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) publishes the list of the stocks in each market cap segment in January and July each year and mutual funds have one month to rebalance their portfolios to adhere to the new categorization.</p>
<p>At the next recategorization in July 2021, we see 7 stocks moving from the mid cap segment to the large cap segment with an equal number of stocks moving the other way, and 13 stocks are expected to move from the small cap segment to the mid cap segment with the 16 stocks moving from the mid cap to the small cap segment. There are 3 recent listings that will enter the mid cap segment with over 18 joining the small cap segment.</p>
<p>Historically, the stocks migrating upward to a higher market cap segment have outperformed stocks that migrate to a lower market cap segment over the 1 month and 2 month period post the publishing of the AMFI list. This can be attributed to fund managers realigning their portfolios to meet the new categorization. This provides opportunities to pre-position for the move and unwind post the announcement of the reclassification.</p>

<p>Macrotech Developers (Lodha) aims to raise around US$345m in its India IPO. It is the largest real estate developer in India, by residential sales over FY14-20. In FY20, it had a share of 24% of total supply (by units), 32% of total absorption (by units) and 46% of total absorption (by value) in the Top Seven Indian Markets. </p><p>Lodha is primarily a residential developer with most of its operations restricted to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). It has projects across the value spectrum from the affordable segment to ultra-luxury high-end residential projects. </p><p>As of Dec 2020, it had completed 91 projects with a developable area of 77.22m sqft. As of Dec 2020, it also had 36 ongoing and 18 planned projects in India with a developable area of 28.78m sqft and 45.08m sqft, respectively.</p><p>This will be the company’s third listing attempt, after 2009/10 and 2018. The size of the deal is expected to be much smaller as well versus the US$800m that it was hoping to raise in 2018.
