Our process begins by organizing the universe of actively traded stocks into discrete sectors, then into industry groups. We then apply our technical and quantitative tools to identify developing price trends. Once attractive trends are identified within a selected sector or group, we screen for individual stocks which we believe offer the best risk/reward profile. We provide a historical perspective that often reveals, through our long-term charts, how price patterns often repeat themselves over time.

<li>The corporate governance efforts are making gradual progress, and I appreciate the company's disclosure of issues, but I would like to see it become more proactive.</li>
<li>Policy shareholding is one of its biggest challenges. Establishing a path for reducing the shareholdings and disclosing and showing progress in doing so shows that it is addressing the issue.</li>
<li>Good progress has been made on the protection of environment. Regarding the expansion of human capital, the initiative has only just begun and is expected further efforts in the future.</li>

<li>We still believe a bottoming process would likely take weeks or potentially months and could come with more tests of the lows -- or even an undercut.</li>
<li>With that said, we continue to see attractive and actionable setups, primarily within cyclical value (Energy, Materials, Manufacturing, Transportation, and Financials).</li>
</ul>


We continue to see some encouraging signs that suggest that the lows may have been established for this correction.
We still believe a bottoming process would likely take weeks or potentially months and could come with more tests of the lows -- or even an undercut.
With that said, we continue to see attractive and actionable setups, primarily within cyclical value (Energy, Materials, Manufacturing, Transportation, and Financials).

<li>Indexes have plunged since violating our "lines-in-the-sand" of 3875 on EURO STOXX 50, 14,815 on the DAX, $54 on ACWI ex-US (ACWX-US), $75.25 on EAFE (EFA-US), and $99 on ACWI(ACWI-US).</li>
<li>More recently, Japan’s TOPIX broke below the key 1840 level, as the number of countries breaking down increases.</li>
<li>We remain bearish at the index level as long as these indexes continue to make lower highs, and we expect that any bottoming process would take weeks/months to develop.</li>
</ul>

<li>Chugai does not have any big launches expected this year. Pipeline has less visibility for compensating the revenue loss from the patent expired products.</li>

Chugai Pharmaceutical (4519 JP) shares declined 2% since we published our bearish note on the company in December. We remain bearish on the name.
Chugai is betting big on Actemra, Hemlibra, and Ronapreve for achieving 2022 revenue target. However, these have bleak outlook due to competition and uncertainty regarding COVID-19 prevalence globally.
Chugai does not have any big launches expected this year. Pipeline has less visibility for compensating the revenue loss from the patent expired products.
