<p>This insight covers Japan and Korea.</p>
<p>The results, as always, are interesting, with some baskets clearly outperforming others. If you take the view that more liquid parents vis-à-vis less liquid subs will either underperform or outperform during these unprecedented times, the answer is not always clear cut, from one country to the next. </p>

Our market composite cap-weighted Results Score declined by 8bps to 0.99</p><p><strong>FORECASTS</strong> - <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/canon-inc" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:1:1" rel="noopener">Canon (7751 JP)</a> released the most optimistic forecasts and account for the 24bps uptick in our Forecast/Revision Score; however, in terms of OP the FY2020 forecast is the same as the FY2016 actual result which was the second-worst outcome in the last decade after FY2019. With the US Treasury about to restore its cash balance (through large T-bill offerings) by over US$250 billion, the US monetary base could contract by over 5% in the next quarter. Japanese listed corporated have done well to preserve their earnings power in harsh global conditions. As all companies are thus on a comparable scale, 'Overbought' and 'Oversold' outliers and changes in scoring can reveal short-term and longer-term trading opportunities. Company outlier thresholds are set at<strong> +4</strong> &amp; <strong>-2</strong> and equate to the top and bottom first-to-second percentiles of historical observations from which mean reversion takes a matter of months.
