The rebalance is effective as of 12 June and all passive buying/selling will be done at the closing auction on 11 June.</p><p>There are 14 inclusions and 14 exclusions in the June 2020 review with an expected one-way turnover of 5.15%.</p><p>The inclusions and exclusions are shown in the table below</p><table class="table table-striped">

<div><p>The Korea Exchange (KRX) will announce the results of the June 2020 review of the KOSDAQ150 in the second half of May. The constituent changes will be effective from 12 June 2020 and the rebalancing trades will need to be done at the closing auction on 11 June 2020.</p></div><div><p>In this Insight we look at the KOSDAQ150 index methodology, the historical performance of inclusions vs exclusions, at the expected candidates for inclusion/exclusion in this review and some of the details around the names.</p></div><div>
<p>Following the completion of the review period on 29 April, we see between 10 to 13 stocks being added to and deleted from the index. This is the first rebalance where stocks from the Financial sector are eligible for inclusion in the KOSDAQ150 index, and the index committee may include them even though they do not meet all criteria for inclusion.</p>

<p>It was reported yesterday that<a href="https://paxnetnews.com/articles/59957" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong> Nexon Korea</strong></a> increased its debt by an additional 1.1 trillion won ($930 million) from its affiliate<strong> Neople </strong>(developer of the popular PC online game <em>Dungeon Fighter</em>). The interest rate on this debt is 4.6% and this debt matures on 19 April 2021. Nexon Korea already raised 382 billion won in debt from Neople on 8 April 2020. <strong>Thus, Nexon Korea raised 1.5 trillion won in debt from Neople this month.</strong></p><p>With the announcement of the large debt raise by Nexon Korea (1.5 trillion won) in 2020, it does appear that Nexon Korea ready to make a major M&amp;A deal in the next few weeks. With regards to the potential M&amp;A deal by Nexon Korea on <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/nexon-co-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:16032:1" rel="noopener">Nexon (3659 JP)</a>, the exact impact remains to be seen since they have not announced what company they will acquire at what price.</p><p>Nonetheless, although the destructive COVID-19 has caused severe economic damage around the world, it has benefited the entire game industry and in this positive environment, Nexon founder Kim Jung-Joo appears to take the offensive and try to acquire a high-quality game company with excellent IP assets.
