Asia HY Trade Book - July 2021 - Lucror Analytics

<p><br/> Melco Resorts' (MLCO) Q2/21 results were within expectations, with its Macau assets reporting improved q-o-q GGR which slightly outpaced that of the industry. This was partly offset by a weaker showing from the company's Manila property. We estimate that MLCO's OCF (after interest payments) remains slightly negative. Moreover, the company has substantial capex requirements, which should keep FCF in the red. While liquidity remains strong, we expect MLCO’s debt to continue rising through FY 2021.<br/><br/> Overall, Macau's YTD GGR recovery has been weaker than anticipated, with H1/21 GGR reaching only 33% of the H1/19 level. We have revised our estimate for the industry's FY 2021 GGR to 40-50% of the pre-COVID 19 level, down from the 50-70% we projected last year. A faster recovery will mainly be contingent on the further easing of Macau/Mainland travel visa requirements, as well as the resumption of quarantine-free travel between the territory and Hong Kong. The industry continues to face travel restriction risks if there are fresh COVID-19 outbreaks in Guangdong or Hong Kong.<br/></p>
