In this insight, we discuss the potential alpha generation from new entries in the "KOSDAQ Rising Stars."
For the KOSDAQ Rising Stars New Entries in 2023, there was a massive outperformance. Of course, we want to reiterate that past performance is NOT indicative of future performance.
On 28 August 2024, KRX provided a list of 39 KOSDAQ Rising Stars companies (including 29 existing ones and 10 new companies).


Alpha Generation from the New Entries in the 'KOSDAQ Rising Stars'

<ul>
<li>We discuss the end of the mandatory lock-up periods for 55 stocks in Korea in July 2024, among which 6 are in KOSPI and 49 are in KOSDAQ.</li>
<li>These 55 stocks on average could be subject to further selling pressures in July and could underperform relative to the market.</li>
<li>The top three market cap stocks including those of which at least 1% of outstanding shares could be sold in July include Lunit, Mezzion Pharma, and DS Dansuk.</li>
</ul>


We discuss the end of the mandatory lock-up periods for 55 stocks in Korea in July 2024, among which 6 are in KOSPI and 49 are in KOSDAQ.
These 55 stocks on average could be subject to further selling pressures in July and could underperform relative to the market.

<li>Daiichi Sankyo announced positive topline result from the phase 3 trial of Enhertu in gastric cancer. Kyorin Pharmaceutical outlicensed KRP-M223, a preclinical mast-cell-targeting candidate for chronic spontaneous urticaria, to Novartis.</li>
<li>Celltrion received FDA approval for Stoboclo and Osenvelt, biosimilars referencing Prolia and Xgeva, respectively. Zydus Lifesciences expects to start the development of world’s first combination vaccine against shigellosis and typhoid.</li>
<li>Biocon received FDA approval for lenalidomide capsules, indicated for types of multiple myeloma, and some other hematologic indications and dasatinib tablets for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia.</li>
