An inconclusive outcome of the talks, which we think is quite likely, could prompt the markets to shift their attention to the state of the global economy and the prospects for further Fed cuts. Meanwhile, we expect more action in the second front of the trade war opened by the US against the EU. The impeachment inquiry against US President Donald Trump is going to generate much noise but will not necessarily shorten his term in office. It may have an impact on the global economy and markets inasmuch as it affects the trade negotiations between the US and China. The departure of John Bolton from the US administration may lead to alleviation in US-Iran tensions. However, it is too early to write off the risk of further spikes in oil prices.</p>
