<ul><li>There are news reports that the privately owned HGC, which currently operates one of HK’s fixed networks, may make an offer to acquire HKBN (1310 HK, NR) at US$1bn (HK$7.8bn) and HKBN has been suspended from trading, pending announcement of inside information.</li><li>Although the HKBN acquisition remains to be confirmed, we believe one of the most valuable parts of HKBN is its all-fiber network, which is one of the best-coverage fixed networks in HK.</li><li>HGC was previously owned by Hutchison Telecom (215 HK, NR) and the latter sold it to a private equity fund in 2017 for HK$14.5bn.</li></ul>
