Periscope Analytics focuses on event-driven trades across Asia Pacific and provides comprehensive, timely and systematic coverage of index changes to major Asia Pacific indices in a structured manner.

The analysis includes forecasted inclusions and exclusions to all major Asian indices that have significant amount of tracking assets, including estimates of passive buy/sell flow on the stocks. The service also provides commentary and impact of market consultations, ground rule changes, and other events (IPOs, spin-offs, M&A) that could lead to index changes and passive flow.

<li>The coming week should be relatively quiet with the announcement of the <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/stock-exchange-of-thailand-set-50-index" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:31493:1" rel="noopener">Stock Exchange of Thailand SET 50 Index (SET50 INDEX)</a> changes expected.</li>
<li>There were large inflows to ETFs focused on China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan. There were inflows to <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/hang-seng-china-enterprises-index-etf" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:25:1" rel="noopener">Hang Seng H Share Index ETF</a> and outflows from <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/tracker-fund-of-hong-kong-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:29257:1" rel="noopener">Tracker Fund of Hong Kong</a>.</li>

It was a busy Friday with the implementation of the December rebalance for multiple indices. The Yuanta/P-shares Taiwan Dividend Plus ETF will continue to rebalance over the next 4 days.
The coming week should be relatively quiet with the announcement of the Stock Exchange of Thailand SET 50 Index (SET50 INDEX) changes expected.
There were large inflows to ETFs focused on China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan. There were inflows to Hang Seng H Share Index ETF and outflows from Tracker Fund of Hong Kong.

<li>Hang Seng Indexes has changed the index handling treatment for Secondary Listings and Dual Primary Listings from the next rebalance in March.</li>
<li>The changes could lead to an increase in the index weighting for <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/li-auto-inc-3dbe6187-544f-40dd-b9f9-72fba9c0110e" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:33811:1" rel="noopener">Li Auto (2015 HK)</a> and the inclusion of <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/xpeng-inc-4cc65854-d10c-4d20-bf7e-ca0e016715ff" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:33772:1" rel="noopener">XPeng (9868 HK)</a> at the March rebalance.</li>
<li>The improved rankings for the Secondary and Dual Primary listings will lead to other changes to the index in March.</li>

<li>Hotel bookings in Sanya have surged over the last two days, reflecting positive demand reaction. However, China's full border opening likely in 2023 is a challenge to CDFC.  </li>
<li>Low base in FY22 will drive 45% earnings growth for FY23. However, valuations are not cheap at 33.8x PER for FY23, a significant premium to consumption sector and international peers.</li>

HSCEI Index Rebalance Preview: Shenhua Energy (1088) Could Replace China Feihe (6186)

<li>There are 4 adds and 4 deletes for the <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/hang-seng-china-enterprises-index" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:22900:1" rel="noopener">Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI INDEX)</a> at the December rebalance. The only surprises are some non-adds and non-deletes.</li>
<li>Using prices from the close on 18 November, estimated one-way turnover is 4.64% and will result in a one-way trade of HK$2,612m at the close on 2 December.</li>
<li>Short interest is larger on the deletes than the adds. However, at 17 days of ADV to cover and 11.7% of float, short interest on <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/zhongsheng-group-holdings" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:10573:1" rel="noopener">Zhongsheng Group</a> is huge.</li>

There are 4 adds and 4 deletes for the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI INDEX) at the December rebalance. The only surprises are some non-adds and non-deletes.
Using prices from the close on 18 November, estimated one-way turnover is 4.64% and will result in a one-way trade of HK$2,612m at the close on 2 December.
Short interest is larger on the deletes than the adds. However, at 17 days of ADV to cover and 11.7% of float, short interest on Zhongsheng Group is huge.

Oriental Watch Holdings Limited, through its subsidiaries, trades watches and invests in properties.

Abercrombie & Fitch Co.  a specialty retailer that operates stores and direct-to-consumer operations. HIKARI TSUSHIN, INC. is a mobile telecommunication service subscription agency. The Company also operates telecommunication services stores, HIT SHOP, which sell cellular telephones, and related goods.  Hikari Tsushin also sells office automation equipment and insurance.

Murphy USA Inc. produces and distributes petroleum products. The Company engages in refining, marketing, and transportation of oil and gas products. Murphy USA provides products and services worldwide.

The Gap, Inc., is an international specialty retailer operating retail and outlet stores.  The Company sells casual apparel, accessories and personal care products for men, women, and children. The Gap operates stores in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Ireland, and Japan.

Lithia Motors, Inc. retails, finances, and services new and used vehicles. Hotai Motor Company Ltd. operates as an automobile dealership. The Company sells and services new and used cars and trucks in Taiwan.

GameStop Corporation operates specialty electronic game and PC entertainment software stores throughout the United States, Australia, Canada and Europe. The Company stores sell new and used video game hardware, video game software and accessories, as well as PC entertainment software, and related accessories and other merchandise.

Penske Automotive Group, Inc. operates franchised automobile dealerships. The Company's franchises are located throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom.  Penske Automotive sells new and used vehicles as well as offers maintenance and repair services on all brands it represents.

AutoNation, Inc. retails, finances, and services new and used vehicles.
