<li>The PCAOB has not, despite a cooperation agreement with the CSRC signed in 2013, been able to conduct on-site investigations of a HK or mainland-based company since 2010.</li>
<li>On Friday, the CSRC published a new Strengthening Confidentiality and File Management Related to Overseas Issuance to replace 2009 rules. </li>
<li>Importantly, the revised Provisions deletes the stipulation that “on-site inspections shall be dominated by domestic regulators or depend on the conclusions of inspections by domestic regulators.” Will it be enough?</li>

<li>BeiGene performed well in 23Q3. Product sales maintained strong growth momentum. Together with effective cost control measures, net loss significantly narrowed (close to breakeven), which exceeds expectation.</li>
<li>BeiGene plans to rely primarily on BRUKINSA/tislelizumab to achieve breakeven, which means BRUKINSA needs to contribute about US$2 billion revenue. Given prescriptions volume, however, Astrazeneca’s Calquence is the biggest holdup.</li>
<li>Whether BeiGene's overall revenue can reach US$4 billion is the key point of marginal change in logic. How to further reduce SG&amp;A/R&amp;D expenses has become important topic at this stage.</li>

<li>Abandoning PD-1 is a simple decision for Novartis, but not for BeiGene, who will do its best to promote FDA approval for tislelizumab, aiming to expand internationalization and stabilize valuation.</li>
<li>We advise investors not to focus too much on whether or not tislelizumab will eventually get FDA approval,because the actual peak sales tislelizumab can contribute to BeiGene could be disappointing.</li>
</ul>

<li>A better week for HK stocks as A-shares rebound on National Team buying, a PBOC RRR cut, and potentially other measures to boost the market. Foreigners stopped selling; that helped.</li>
<li>Southbound saw decent net buying on ETFs late in the week, but otherwise the week was pretty flat in single-stock land - net buying of SOEs, selling of tech.</li>
<li>Net SOUTHBOUND buying was HK$4.5bn on the week, mostly through Shanghai (interestingly, 90+% of the decent NORTHBOUND buy was also through Shanghai). </li>
</ul>
