Our process begins by organizing the universe of actively traded stocks into discrete sectors, then into industry groups. We then apply our technical and quantitative tools to identify developing price trends. Once attractive trends are identified within a selected sector or group, we screen for individual stocks which we believe offer the best risk/reward profile. We provide a historical perspective that often reveals, through our long-term charts, how price patterns often repeat themselves over time.

Global Emerging Markets Weekly: 25 June 2021

Our base case continues to be for near-term consolidation while the market determines the implications of states’ reopening (i.e., the “wait-and-see” phase). Until this consolidation period resolves below support or above resistance we are maintaining a relatively neutral stance considering the wide range of outcomes. Many major indexes are testing logical resistance and until we see breakouts it is hard to get too bullish. In this report we highlight attractive stocks from a RS perspective.

Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited is a gold-mining and exploration company which produces gold from its operations in South Africa and Papua New Guinea.

Anglo American Platinum Limited is the holding company for a group of companies which operate platinum mines.  In addition to platinum, the Group mines and produces platinum group metals such as palladium, rhodium, iridium, ruthenium, osmium, nickel, copper, and cobalt.

AngloGold Ashanti Limited is a holding company for a group of companies which explore for and mine gold internationally. The Group has operations in the Vaal River and West Witwatersrand areas of South Africa as well as Namibia, Mali, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, Tanzania and the United States.

Impala Platinum Holdings Limited, or Implats, is the holding company for a group of companies which operate platinum mines.  In addition to platinum, Implats mines, produces, and markets other platinum group metals such as palladium, rhodium, and nickel.  Implats also provides refining services for base and precious metals producers.

African Rainbow Minerals Ltd. is a diversified South African mining company with long-life, low unit cost assets. The Company mines and beneficiates iron ore, manganese ore and alloys, platinum group metals, copper, nickel and coal. ARM also has an investment in gold.

Royal Bafokeng Platinum Ltd. is a mineral exploration company. The Company is focused on platinum exploration at its Bafokeng Rasimone mine in South Africa.

Gold Fields Ltd is a gold producer with annualised production of approx. 2.0 million gold equivalent ounces from six operating mines in Australia, Ghana, Peru and South Africa. The Company has four major projects at resource development or feasibility level.

United States Steel Corporation operates as an integrated steel producer. The Company manufactures flat-rolled and tubular products with production operations in North America and Europe. United States Steel serves the automotive, appliance, container, industrial machinery, construction, and oil and gas industries.

BlueScope Steel Limited supplies steel products and solutions.
