I guess we can't really disagree that the global chatbot market is growing at a rocket speed. More importantly, this chatbot does not seem to be just another passing fad. I personally found that many of these chatbot services were really helpful. I am not using them just out of curiosity. I'm now using them because they offer me a decent alternative to do and get what I aim to do and get. OK, I think I don't need to keep saying how wonderful these chatbots are and will be and how fast they are growing now. Most of you have already heard about this many times. Now, I'm particularly interested in how these chabots can transform mobile messenger services into another kind of app store. I am a Korea specialist. So, obviously, I'd like to pay a very special attention to Korea's dominant mobile messenger KakaoTalk. That is, I'm looking into a possibility that KakaoTalk may become a new kind of app store. If we really see this trend, then this may become a very interesting valuation premium factor that is not properly reflected in Kakao's stock price.

Is the level of LINE's growth meeting your expectations? I guess this depends on how high your expectations are. Of course, many of us seemed to have been very disappointed by LINE's 3Q16 results, particularly, LINE's worse-than-expected growth result for its performance ad business. Yes, I had pretty much the same disappointment. Performance ad business is the most important element for LINE's "sustainable growth", and its achievement in 3Q16 with the performance ad did not meet my expectations either.I know it is a bit late to examine LINE's 3Q16 results, but I'd like you to look at it again little more carefully. This way, we will all know the nature of problems LINE is facing. After then, I will discuss on what LINE is doing to address these problems and what chance LINE actually has to overcome these problems.

Alibaba continues to expand Double 11, its shopping event around Singles’ Day, a consumerist holiday meant for treating oneself. The 2016 version of the event was the retailer’s most extravagant and successful one yet. This year, Alibaba rebranded the shopping event from “Double 11” to “The 11/11 Global Shopping Festival”. Based on this rebranding and its surrounding marketing and promotional events as well as the integration of the most up-and-coming technology, it is clear that the retailer does not simply plan on expanding the shopping event but instead plans on leveraging the event to expand its business globally.
