<p><strong>Thailand: Potential upside surprise in 2016</strong></p><ul><li>The Thailand economy is turning around, with private consumption and investment levels gaining momentum on the back of a recovery in consumer and business confidence.</li><li>The government has unleashed fiscal firepower to jumpstart economic growth. Stimulus programmes are in place to boost rural incomes and, in turn, consumer spending while mega infrastructure projects are poised to begin in 2016.</li><li>Thailand could therefore surprise positively in 2016: the decline in farm incomes is likely to end while the public investment programme will help crowd in private investment.
