It seems that there could be grounds for an SEC investigation into alleged stock manipulation by Elon Musk because of his tweet about taking Tesla private via an LBO at $420/share during trading hours on the NASDAQ today. Even if the SEC doesn't do anything, the $13bn worth of shorts out there could well try to sue for stock manipulation, just as those who sued Porsche for allegedly manipulating VW's share price back in 2008 did.
