Samsung C&T announced that it plans to cancel treasury shares including 7.8 million shares of common stock (4.2% of outstanding shares) in 2023.

Samsung C&T will hold an AGM on 15 March, at which there will be a showdown with several overseas activist investors. One of the interesting twist of turns is that Kcc Corp (002380 KS) (2nd largest shareholder of Samsung C&T with a 9.17% stake) may not side with the company this time. If the Momentive IPO fails, KCC Group may eventually cash out of its stake in Samsung C&T to improve financials.
