<p>Maruti Suzuki continued its dominance in the domestic market by increasing its passenger vehicle market share to 51.2% in 1QFY18, up from 47.6% during the same period in the preceding financial year. The company was up by 59.1% YoY on the NSE, dwarfing the 17.4% YoY gained by the NIFTY Auto Index. While Maruti might have missed revenue and PAT estimates in its 1QFY18 results, we remain focused on the company’s strong potential in the current fiscal period. The company currently trades at a PE of 31.6x FY2018 EPS, a slight premium compared to the industry average of 28x.</p>
