Athaporn Arayasantiparb, CFA

Athaporn served as Head of Research for UOB and ANZ in Thailand and was an award-winning telecoms analyst at UBS in 2010 (AsiaMoney Thailand category) and Regional Strategist for DMG in Singapore. Prior to that, he also served as Kasikornbank credit analyst and scholar. He has a total work experience of 22 years, of which 19 were in research and 9 in research management roles. He started his career as an engineer for PTT and currently manages family investments. He holds an MBA from Stern (NYU) and CFA Charter since 2006.

The Bangkok International Motor Show is one of the most popular event for car lovers in Thailand. It is famed not only for the cars on display but the models and presenters, known as "pretties" in Thailand, so it is out of personal curiosity that we study this IPO  than anything. The cool named Grand Prix (GPI) also produces car-related magazines. There's a lotta spare parts maker but only one we can think of that focusses so much on presentation and consumer education.We've priced this IPO at a modest Bt2.95/sh, implying a tiny US$57m valuation, despite its high visibility. It's profitable and debt-free, but at the end of the day, it doesn't generate that much money either yo.
