<ul class="ul1"><li class="li2">Despite the recent turmoil caused by the US Presidential election we have seen a substantial easing across a number of key downside risks to the global economy since late 2015. Most notably China’s economy has begun to stabilize, oil prices have stabilized and the strength in the US dollar has eased. </li></ul><ul class="ul1"><li class="li2">Easing across these key downside risks has triggered a massive re-rating across global equity markets. Since bottoming in early 2016 the MSCI All Country World Index has surged by 17% and the MSCI Emerging Markets Index is up 31%. </li></ul><ul class="ul1"><li class="li2">Performance across Emerging Markets since January 2016 has varied substantially. In line with our expectations Emerging Markets most exposed to our full set of ‘key risk factors’ have tended to outperform. </li></ul><ul class="ul1"><li class="li2">As market participants struggle to adjust to the rapid changes currently taking place in the global economy (driven by a rapid easing of key downside risks) large market discrepancies/inefficiencies have developed.</li></ul><ul class="ul1"><li class="li2">In the following report we outline how to position for an eventual correction of this market inefficiency both in the near-term and through 2017.</li></ul>
