Alex Ng

Alex Ng is the founder and head of research of the economic and investment research house Fortress Hill Advisors. Prior to founding Fortress Hill Advisors, he worked as an economic research analyst across government, academic, and financial institutes including the Hong Kong Financial Secretary’s Office (Office of the Government Economist), Economic Research Center of the Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies at CUHK, and State Street Global Markets. Alex holds a Master of Arts in Economics degree from Columbia University in the City of New York and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Mathematics from Wesleyan University (CT, USA).

Our firm's expertise lies in macroeconomics, global macro,  global thematic research, company and equity research, multi-asset strategy, event driven, and ESG.

<li>The Fed’s Q3 Senior Loan Officer Opinion Survey of bank lending practices has a less negative tone in terms of both supply and demand, suggesting limited downside risk to investment. </li>
<li>The YTD showed a less negative tone in Q1 relative to 2023, and while Q2’s findings were similar to those of Q1.Q3 data is clearly less negative than Q2’s.</li>
<li>The net percentages tightening standards on C+I loans of 7.9% for medium and large businesses and 8.2% for small, compares with 15.6% and 19.7% in Q2 respectively.</li>
