<p>Investors in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac returned to U.S. appeals court March 7 after the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear their case the previous month.  Washington, D.C., attorney David Thompson, representing several funds, told a panel ofthe Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals that the structure of the Federal Housing Finance Agency should be declared unconstitutional because the independent federal agency running Fannie and Freddie under conservatorship since 2008 is “unaccountable to the president, to congress, and to the judiciary.”</p>
