Chartonics weekly Monday 18 April 2016 Extended lift as USD gears upCall for relative chart uptick favoring Europe over the US came through with downtrend resuming. EM’s are due to turn lower versus the US and Europe on the back of a firming USD.April 12 action point update outlined stop and action turn levels for shorts where we locked in short gains and quickly cut excess short exposure while adding select EM long bets (India and Singapore). Shorts will be re set higher.EM FX – USD bull basing in process. THB and IDR leading SGD move with MYR to follow and KRW lagging. USD/JPY 110 turn resistance.Brent in our short zone at the 44 barrier. Copper bounce to fade.Gold faces stronger USD and extended risk on headwinds. Silver to outperform gold.EEM short from 34.50 and will add above 35 for a slide back to 31 in May/June. Brazil short cut at breakeven. Turkey short stopped out at 84,400 for a loss of 5.20%. Re measuring EM shorts to re set/adjust higher (not giving up). Asia longs: Nifty fresh long from 7,580. H share long managed to clear 9,100 resistance with a push to 9,500 in the works. 2823.hk bet to 10.80-11 on A share tail wind rise to Shanghai 3,200 (resilient to global cycle weakness). Long Singapore from 2,840. Long Korea/short Nikkei pair trade reversed on 4/14.Asia shorts: Japan 16,500 squared for 2% gain with intent to re set near 17,500+ (JPY turn resistance at 110.40 and 111) Malaysia 1,700 cut (-1.15%). Thailand 1,360 reduced. DBS bank short squared for 5% gain. Taiwan short squared near break-even (re set closer to 9,000). Plant to short Korea at 250+. Probing for HK property short/A share long pair bet.Europe - Eurostoxx 50 2,940 cut at 2,960. Short DAX back at square one but holding; need to adjust. FTSE long bet has a bit more gas. Weak Euro will give Europe a minor cushion.S&amp;P 2,038 support held for a test on 2,100 with momentum extended.April 18 is a cycle date that may impact FX and commodities more than currencies. Our early April peak cycle timeline has been shifted right marginally.
