Chartonics weekly Monday 20 June 2016Bracing for a binary outcomeEM’s did see a relative fade against US equities but edged higher against Europe which remains the weakest region.We are reducing short exposure into Brexit, particularly in Europe. European shorts have done well and we started locking in gains last week (below SX7E 90). Brexit reaction will be defining but hard to forecast.USD has turned more neutral with a bullish bid on weakness. We are keeping FX trades more tactical. Look to cover GBP short on next draw down. USD/JPY targets 102 for a macro reversal with BOJ intervention risk. Dollar/Asia mixed with underlying USD bull support. Short dollar bets focused in INR and MYR (having trouble) while clearest long dollar bias is in KRW, CNH, SGD.S&amp;P – 2,084 breach opens the way for further losses. We squared out XLB short and reduced our financials short by half. S&amp;P 1,980 is the support to challenge with uptick risk to 2,084. Cracking 2,038 would see the daily cycle inflection spill over into the teetering weekly topping cycle.Long India – 8,350 barrier with 8,700 MT target. Partial hedge at 8,200 to 8,000. USD/INR risk above the 67.20 resistance (now Rajan departure).Short Oil/Russia/CAD – Brent shorted at 52.43 for slide to 48/44. Russia 954 short; cracked 930 support – key target at 860. CAD short squared (+1%) and will look to re set near 1.28.Asia shorts – Australia short now working. Singapore short from 2,860. Korea short zone at 246 area. Short Taiwan from 8,610.Short HK property – Re shorted HK property at 28,600.n  Short Japan – Shorted at 16,730. Look for convincing break below 16,000 support (now resistance) to open the way to 14,000.Asia longs – India long from Nifty 7,752. HSI 20,300 long reduced by half at 21,225. SEC long from 1.36m but looking to exit near 1.45m. Thailand SET 50 906 long – need to cut but has relative merit.Cycles – June 30-July 12 is the ideal timeline for markets to bottom. For this to take shape it would imply a Brexit leave vote with the USD/JPY hitting 101-102 (risk of BOJ intervention) and Europe capitulating to ideal bear to bull turn levels, setting a more bullish stage for the global cycle. US equities are now on more fragile footing and should play out lower before good buy levels unfold.
