BACKGROUND
I have 20+yrs experience in Asia doing alternative strategies (i.e. non-delta1 non long-only) in fixed income, equity derivatives, and activist/catalyst/event-driven and long-short equity strategies with most of that time spent managing money. 

4 years in fixed income macro, 8 years running internal hedge fund and 4yrs investment banking at Citi in Japan, 3 years running an Asia multi-strat portfolio at a hedge fund, 4+yrs as an independent special situations analyst.

<li>Today (27 June 2024) after the close, <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/aisin-corp" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:11809:1" rel="noopener">Aisin (7259 JP)</a> announced three Toyota Group companies (Toyota, Toyota Industries, and Denso) would sell shares in Aisin in a ¥180bn offering.</li>
<li>This is ALL of Denso's holdings, 63% of Toyota Industries stake, and ~12% of Toyota's stake. Separately, Aisin announced a 17mm share (6.3%) ¥100bn buyback and a 3:1 split Oct1.</li>
<li>The recent yuho shows us the progress of Aisin's promised selldown of crossholdings. There are three large chunks left. One is easy. The climb to capital allocation credibility easier too.</li>
