<p>On Monday, July 16, almost exactly three years after its initial launch, partners Intel and Micron announced that the two companies would be ending their joint development efforts for 3D XPoint Memory.  The two companies will cease co-development of the product after jointly completing the design of their second-generation product.  The IMFT Lehi, Utah facility will continue to manufacture the product after joint development has ceased.</p><p>What does this mean to prospective users, to Intel, to Micron, to their competition, and to investors?</p>
