US markets ended the day mixed – S&amp;P was up 0.2% snapping a week-long losing streak while tech heavy Nasdaq slid 0.1% lower making a fourth straight day of losses. Energy and Financials up 2.9% and 1.1% respectively stood out among the gainers while Healthcare was the prominent loser, down 0.6%. European stocks reversed some of last week’s losses – FTSE and DAX gained 0.6% each and CAC added 0.2%. Brazil’s Bovespa surged 1.9% to start the week. Major stock markets in the Gulf ended mixed, with UAE’s ADX falling 0.7% while Saudi’s TASI reversed early losses to close 0.4% higher. Asian markets have started the day in the green – Nikkei was up more than 0.6%, Shanghai and Singapore’s STI were up more than 0.3% and HSI was broadly flat. US 10Y Treasury yields were flat at 1.33%. US IG and HY CDX spreads tightened 0.6bp and 2.1bp respectively. EU Main CDS spreads were 0.1bp wider and Crossover CDS spreads widened 0.5bp. Asia ex-Japan CDS spreads widened 0.3bp. US inflation will be keenly watched out for with the CPI release due today. It’s a rather busy day for the Asian primary markets with 10 new bond deals launched this morning.

<p>Headline Developments Coinbase (COIN) is under scrutiny from the SEC, receiving a subpoena from the regulator relating to its yield-generating product dubbed Lend (allowing users to earn double-digit yields on deposits of USDC on its platform).  According to a series of tweets from Coinbase CEO and co-founder Brian Armstrong (outlined below), he says that the SEC has refused to meet with the company, that they have complied with all requests and that the company’s door remains open for constructive discussions.</p>

US markets slipped marginally ahead of the US consumer price index (CPI) for May, to be published later today. S&amp;P was down 0.2% and Nasdaq was down 0.1% after wiping out some initial gains. Financials and Industrials led the losses with a drop of ~1% while Healthcare gained 1%. Economists are expecting the CPI to rise 4.7% from a year earlier, according to Dow Jones vs. April’s reading of 4.2%, the highest since 2008. US 10Y Treasury yields dropped by ~4bp to 1.49%, its lowest since October despite higher inflation expectations. European markets once again struggled for direction. DAX and FTSE closed 0.4% and 0.2% lower respectively while CAC closed 0.2% higher. US IG and HY CDS tightened ~0.2bp and ~0.4bp respectively. EU main and crossover CDS also tightened by ~0.5bp and 2.7bp respectively. Gulf markets closed higher tracking the oil prices. Saudi TASI was up 0.5% and UAE’s ADX was up 0.6%. Latam markets were mixed with Brazil’s Bovespa up 0.1%. Asian markets have opened higher ~0.5% and Asia ex-Japan CDS spreads widened 0.4bp.
